About General Thomas D. Waldhauser, U.S. Marine Corps (Retired)

General Waldhauser was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Throughout his 43 years of military service, he participated in various operations and contingencies,
including Afghanistan and Iraq. He also served as Chief of Staff, United States Special Operations
Command, Commander Marine Forces United States Central Command/I Marine Expeditionary Force,
and Senior Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense. Prior to his retirement in 2019, he served as the
Combatant Commander for United States Africa Command where he was responsible for all United
States military engagements and operations across the African continent.

Waldhauser’s post-military career includes a positions on the Board of Governors for the Marine Corps
Heritage Foundation, the Board of Directors for Girl Security, the Board of Directors for the Military
Officers Association of America, and a Senior Fellow at National Defense University. He also serves as a
member of the Advisory Board and Senior Advisor for Jones Group International.
