About Matt Albence
Matthew T. Albence is a Vice President at Jones Group International where he advises his team and clients on critical national security, law enforcement, and border security matters. He possesses over 26 years of federal law enforcement experience, climbing the ladder from an entry-level Special Agent to the Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In this capacity, he executed oversight of the agency’s day-to-day operations, leading a workforce of 21,000 personnel assigned to over 400 domestic and international offices, with a budget of nearly $9 billion. During his tenure, the agency achieved record performances in a multitude of essential operational measures, while providing strong, transparent, apolitical leadership.
Prior to this role, he served as the Deputy Director of ICE, the Executive Associate Director for Enforcement and Removal Operations, and the Assistant Director for Enforcement. In the field, he held myriad leadership positions of progressively greater responsibility and scope. He began his career in 1994 as a Special Agent with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, where he worked a broad variety of investigative disciplines, to include the Joint Terrorism and Organized Crime Task Forces.
Matt holds a B.S. in Justice from American University and a M.S. in Administration of Justice from Southern Illinois University.
