As a Senior Director at Jones Group Europe, Richard focusses on market expansion and innovative business strategies for the company’s growth in NATO and throughout Europe, navigating European market entry, strategic partnerships, and business challenges across diverse industries.

Before joining Jones Group Europe, Richard Woolgar-James served as Corporate NATO Lead for Northrop Grumman, a leading aerospace and defense technology company. Richard was part of a team developing prospects in Europe by establishing and maintaining partnerships and opportunities with European businesses, governments, and military forces.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Richard served as the United Kingdom’s Defense and Security Policy Attaché at NATO headquarters in Brussels, where he delivered the organization’s most senior defense policy, planning, and capabilities development initiatives alongside NATO Allies. Before this, Richard was a member of NATO’s nuclear forces community at NATO HQ, where he advised the alliance on nuclear deterrence policy issues including strategic nuclear forces, dual-capable aircraft capability, exercises, and deterrence messaging.

Richard has also worked at Chatham House and the United Nations on strategic issues pertaining to non-conventional threats, counter-terrorism, missile proliferation and arms control in the European and Pacific regions, giving him broader expertise in the defense sector.

Richard resides in Germany with his family.
