Akin Gump Announces Strategic Alliance With Gen. James L. Jones and Jones Group International

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is pleased to announce the formation of a strategic alliance with Jones Group International (JGI), the global consulting group led by Gen. James L. Jones, USMC (Ret.), former National Security Advisor to President Obama, Supreme Allied Commander Europe and Commander of the U.S. European Command, and 32nd Commandant of the Marine Corps. Through the alliance, Gen. Jones and JGI’s team will provide strategic advice and counsel to Akin Gump clients on a broad array of international policy and national security issues, with an emphasis on emerging markets in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Gen. James L. Jones has led a distinguished career in public service in the Marine Corps that has spanned four decades. Upon his retirement from the Marine Corps in 2007, Gen. Jones became the president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute for 21st Century Energy, where he worked to advance international cooperation on energy issues and protect national energy security.
